CWF has created a special initiative to provide wheelchairs to the disabled community of Afghanistan in an effort to promote prospects of socio-economic development and peace. The promotion of mobility as a basic need through this practical initiative complements the wide spectrum of Canadian aid in Afghanistan and accelerates its effectiveness. The program has a direct and noticeably long-lasting impact on unemployment, literacy, health, and poverty. In partnership with local government and NGOs, CWF aids in promoting long term Afghan goals of restoration, and development of the country's human and social capital.
